Entry Level Training
Correspondence Course

This ELT Correspondence Course meets the Alberta Environment training requirement for operators becoming certified for the first time. The course covers basic aspects or the industry - it has not been specifically developed to prepare an operator to write a certification exam. The AWWOA does offer certification preparation courses that have designed to assist in the writing of the Alberta Environment exams - please see the description of these classroom and correspondence courses on this web site.

NOTE: Completion of this course does NOT fulfill all certification requirements.

When applying to Alberta Environment for certification, please indicate registration in this course, If all the other requirements (education, experience) are met, the operator may be conditionally approved to write. This Entry Level Training course must be successfully completed before an operator will be permitted to write the certification exam. Please see the certification application and exam schedule and download an application for certification well in advance of the deadlines. Information on certification may be obtained by calling Alberta Environment at (780) 427-7713, fax; 780-327-5204 or e-mail: wasteandwater.certification@gov.ab.ca
